Thwane… is the native Tswana word for caracal, a very common predator in our area. Thwane Safari’s was established more than a decade ago as one of Africa’s best Bow Hunting Ranches. Big Game Hunter, outfitter and owner Marius Barnard has one goal with his sons Rhuan Barnard (PH) and Marno Barnard (PH) in mind – to offer his clients a high quality safari.
The luxurious Thwane Safaris Lodge is situated on top of a hill that is surrounded by beautiful big mountains with a view overlooking other mountains and the Sub-Savannah plains that are being grazed by all kinds of wild Game. This beautiful scenery and free roaming Gemsbuck/Oryx inspired us to create the Thwane Safaris Lodge.
All chalets consist of a private outside viewing deck, which connects you with the vast stretches of the sub-savannah plains and mountains beyond, where you can escape from everyday reality while glancing over the wild game and bird life around the lodge and waterhole.
Thwane Safaris has expanded in South Africa to close to 20 000 acres of privately owned land. Thwane Safaris additionally has access to over half a million acres in concessions, no more than an hours drive from our main lodge. We believe in ethical hunting and conservation through hunting. The vast land we own along with the concessions we have access to, gives us the ability to offer our clients a large number of species, excellent quality trophies and fair chase hunting.
Our main lodge is situated in the heart of the Limpopo valley, at the end of the of the Waterberg Mountain range. Our luxury lodge offers a oasis for the whole family and we welcome non-hunters to come and join in the magic South Africa has to offer. OR Tambo International Airport, where you will fly into, is a mere 3 and a half hour drive from our main lodge. Enjoy a relaxing drink next to the crackling of a Bushveld fire while our in house chef prepares exquisite traditional South African cuisine, to be enjoyed after a exceptional day’s hunting, at our hand carved dining room table. We hope to welcome you and your loved ones to our piece of South African paradise.
