My family and I had the pleasure of hunting together at Thwane Safari Safaris in July, 2011. When we arrived we were greeted by the owners Marius & Leoni Barnard who went out of their way to ensure that we had a memorable family hunt. One of my priorities for the weekend was to ensure that my son and his cousin had a chance to each hunt an animal, as they were both new to the sport and were extremely excited.
Rhuan, our Professional Hunter for the weekend really worked hard to ensure that the boys each got a awesome trophy. From taking them to the shooting range on the farm to make sure that they were comfortable with their rifles and that the rifles were still sighted in, to the actual hunt, Rhuan was a true professional. He took his time with each child and made sure that they each got the trophy animal they were looking for. His patience and motivation ensured that each kid was relaxed and ensured the success of the hunt.
Liam ended up shooting a 22 3/8” Impala ram and Dirk a great 11 ½” Warthog. The smiles on their faces said it all.
The accommodation, hospitality of Marius & Leoni, professionalism of Rhuan, food & friendly relaxed atmosphere around the boma at night made for the most amazing weekend filled with great memories.
